“Three Temptations”
Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread. ”
Matthew 4:3
Questions
- What has satan come to do?
- Why did he try to tempt the Son of God?
- What does the stones becoming bread means?
Lessons
As John the Baptist raised Him from the water, Jesus heard His Father’s affirmation, “Well done!” Immediately afterward, Jesus spent forty days fasting in the wilderness.
There, Satan met Him and presented three temptations.
First, Satan enticed Jesus to use His divine power to transform stones into bread.
It seemed like a logical thing to do.
Jesus was hungry, but He had a much greater need to follow His father’s will.
Next, Satan tried by saying if you’re the Son of God throw tourself down. Then finally. Satan said He will offer to give Him all the kingdoms of the world if He Jesus will compromise
Satan is very silly and thought Jesus will fall for these demands.
Friend!
As you seek to follow God, temptations will inevitably come. Sometimes they will come immediately after a spritual victory. Jesus only relied on God’s word to see Him through.
Your strength should be from the word of God at all times to overcome challenges.
Prayer 🙏
Hear my prayer O God.
Don’t turn away from my plea!
Listen to me and answer me .
I will give you thanks because you’re good.
You have rescued me from all my troubles.
I have seen my enemies defeated in Jesus name,
Amen .
Remain blessed!
