Sacrificing for the sake of the Kingdom.
Matthew 6:33
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Points To Note
What does it mean to sacrifice? To offer a sacrifice means to suffer a loss, to give up, to renounce, to injure, to destroy especially for an ideal or belief or an end. Biblically, to sacrifice is the act of giving up something valuable, for the sake of a higher purpose. It often refers to offering something to God as an act of devotion.
If you seek God first, He will take care of the rest for you; but if you try to seek yours first, you will lose it.
To be a faithful believer, you have to learn to sacrifice. We are called to sacrifice our pride and jealousy for the sake of the kingdom.
We have to learn to speak the truth as the salt of the earth. No matter how hard it is, we are to speak the truth. We are called to risk our comfort and security for the sake of the kingdom, just as Esther did for her people. The life we live is not about today, but about tomorrow.
