My quite time this morning
“New Year’s Resolution”
So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
John 21:15 KJV
Questions :
- Who do you love more?
- Why do you say I love you to Him?
- What proves your strong love to Christ?
Lessons :
Jesus has a wonderful way of restoring us when we fail Him! He does not humiliate us, He does not criticize us. Rather , He takes us aside and ask us to reaffirm our love for Him.
Peter miserably failed the Lord when he fled with the other disciples from the Garden of Gethsemane. Later he publicly denied that he even knew Jesus in the most crucial hour.
What a betrayal…..
This new year, a quick reflection in your own life may help you to remember the many times you disappointed Christ but His love towards you was and is super strong.
Beloved!
“Do you love me ?” If your answer, Like Peter’s Yes , Lord.
Then He will reaffirm His will for you .
If you truly love Him.
Our spiritual resolutions will fail just as fast as our non-spiritual ones when it’s all about what I’m going to do. If God is the center of your New Year’s Resolution, it has chance for success – depending on your commitment to it. Philippians 4:13 tells us, “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” If it is God’s will for something to be fulfilled, He will enable you to fulfill it. If a resolution is not God honoring and/or is not in agreement in God’s Word –
Friend!
Jesus does not need your resolutions, your recommitment or your promises to try harder this year. Jesus is asking for your LOVE. If you truly love Him your service for Him in 2020 will be the quality that He only desires.
Prayer 🙏
Dear God, Thank you that you make all things new. Thank you for all that you’ve allowed into our lives this past year, the good along with the hard things, which have reminded us how much we need you and rely on your presence filling us every single day. We pray for your Spirit to lead us each step of this New Year.
In Jesus mighty name
Amen.
Remain blessed
