Jesus the Authority and True Meaning of Rest.
Mark 2:27
27 “And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.”
The key to understanding how Jesus is our sabbath rest in the Hebrew word Sabratha, which means to rest from work. God after creating everything in the universe and humans, he rests on the seventh day.
The sabbath day is dedicated to worship and reflect on God’s goodness, it is a day set aside to reflect on God and his convent between Him and man.
Jesus’s Authority redefines the sabbath as a day for human benefits. It a time that we are re-energized in God and a day that we celebrate the peace of God; a day that we worship and meditate on the goodness of Good freely.
Jesus made us know that sabbath day is not only a day of rest but a day of doing good. So do good on sabbath day, not only on that day but all other days. You must practice true rest under Jesus Authority; this means setting aside time from our busy days to pray and to reflect on God’s goodness, and be attentive to God’s guidance.
