Not By Might

My quite time this morning

“Not By Might”

This is the word of the Lord to Zarubbabel “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of host.
Zachariah 4:6

Questions

1. What can the power of God do for us?
2. Why we should not trust on our own efforts?
3. Who has the final say in life?

Lessons

God’s word came to His people at a critical time, They were people who faced a daunting task. They had been in exiled in Babylon for seventy years. During this time they had witnessed the strength of the most dominant military power in their world. The Israelites saw an even greater superpower emerging on the world stage . After thier returned to Jerusalem after seventy years.

Then came God’s word! He promised that they, will indeed rebuild thier city again. But, He told them the rebuilding would not be accomplished by thier own power and resources but by His Spirit. This is so refreshing to know that Jehovah Elohim is with you.
There will be times when obeying God will lead you into impossible situations but for God

Friend!

The success of your endeavors will not depend on the way you use your own resources but on how you obey the Spirit of God .

Prayer ?

Our most precious heavenly father,
We are most grateful for today
You, O Lord, have called us to watch and pray
Therefore, whatever may be the sin against which we pray, make us careful to watch against it, and so we can have a reason to expect that our prayers will be answered.
Grant us grace to preserve a sober, equal temper and sincerity to pray for help.
In Jesus mighty name ,
