Herod Seeks To Destroy Him

The eyes of the lord is over his people and will always protect us from the hands of the wicked.

My quite time this morning

“Herod Seeks To Destroy Him”

An angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying; Arise, take the young Child and His mother flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word ; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him. Matthew 2:13

Questions:

  • Who is Herod?
  • Why was he seeking to destroy Jesus?
  • What role did Joseph played to protect the unborn Child?

Lessons

The eyes of the lord is over his people and will always protect us from the hands of the wicked.

Whenever God clearly speaks to you and you obey His will, you can expect to face opposition. Spiritual attacks by the ungodly are not always signs that you’re out of the will of God ,they may even indicate that you’re in the center of God’s will.
Joseph feared God yet his obedience to God forced him to flee for his life to a foreign land.

And it payed off by saving the king of Glory. Obedient to God is better than sacrifice.
Jesus warned His disciples to expect persecution from the world as they obeyed His father. Life will not always be fare play to you but He will always be there with you and make a way when even you don’t see a way.
Beloved!

God’s will for you may involve hardship, as it did in His own Son, but He loves you and will not allow you to face more than you are able to handle.

Prayer ?

The Lord is my light and my salvation
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life
of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked advance against me
to devour me,
it is my enemies and my foes
who will stumble and fall.
Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
You oh lord will be my defense
In Jesus mighty name we pray.
Amen.
